Year Round Volunteer Opportunities
Stupid Cancer AYA Access to Care: From Treatment to Survivorship
HOPA is partnering with Stupid Cancer on a project to support providers who serve adolescent and young adult (AYA) patients (15-39 years of age). The project helps address the unique needs of this patient community. Through a series of focus groups, discussions, and surveys with AYA patients and providers, Stupid Cancer will pinpoint specific challenges and gaps in care along the continuum of care.
7-10 Hematology/Oncology Pharmacists Needed.
To capture the hematology/oncology pharmacist perspective, HOPA is looking for 7-10 volunteers who work with patients between the ages of 15-39 years old to be part of a focus group. This focus group will review a survey and provide feedback on its contents to better assess the current landscape of AYA care.
Variety of Perspectives Wanted.
We value perspective from varying clinical pharmacy practice settings including inpatient, ambulatory, infusion center, specialty pharmacy, community practice, and academic medical centers.
Responsibilities include:
- Review of material prior to focus group
- Active participation in virtual one-hour focus group
- Option to serve on future virtual focus groups to discuss findings and possible solutions
If you are interested in participating in this focus group, please submit your CV and a short statement about your experience caring for AYA patients, including practice setting and population you care for by May 24, 2023. Any questions related to this partnership can be sent to Nicole Watts (nwatts@hoparx.org)
