Advocacy & Awareness

Pharmacist talking to patient Spacer Image

HOPA's Advocacy and Public Policy teams relentlessly work toward the day when everyone affected by cancer has a hematology/oncology pharmacist as an integral member of their care team.

Central to this vision is the need to make hematology/oncology pharmacists more visible in oncology practice and within the broader healthcare system. HOPA member advocates actively attend coalition meetings, help pen letters of support to lawmakers, and craft comment letters to regulatory agencies. Our member advocates and Patient Advisory Panelists also participate in Hill Day at least once a year in Washington, D.C.

Through advocacy and awareness-building we will continue to bring the role of the hematology/oncology pharmacist to light and serve as a megaphone for people with cancer.
