Early Career Mentorship Program
The HOPA Early Career Mentorship Program pairs early-career practitioners with mentors to help improve professional competencies and leadership skills. This 9-month program represents a bridge between senior leaders in hem/onc pharmacy and up-and-coming hem/onc pharmacists.
The call for the 2027 Early Career Mentorship Program cohort will open this September. The call for applications will be promoted via member update emails and social media.

Qualifications
For Prospective Mentors
To serve as a mentor, qualified applicants must:
- Be a current HOPA member, complete with an updated account and updated demographic information
- Be a past HOPA Board member or a HOPA Fellow
- Complete the interest survey and CV
- Be able to participate in monthly meetings with their assigned mentee and HOPA Mentorship Program group meetings
- Attend at least one in-person event - including the HOPA Annual Conference (HOPA will provide some travel reimbursement)
For Prospective Mentees
Qualified mentees must meet the following requirements:
- In practice for at least three years (PGY2 year may be included)
- Complete the application form, along with providing two letters of recommendation and a current CV
- Current HOPA Membership, complete with an updated account and updated demographic information
- Able to meet monthly with assigned mentor and participate in HOPA Mentorship Program activities
- Attend at least one in person event - including the HOPA Annual Conference (HOPA will provide some travel reimbursement)
In addition, to fully complete the online application, prepare the following:
- Current CV
- The names and email addresses of two recommendation sources (one from a current manager or supervisor is preferred)
- Your leadership experience and/or goals for leadership
- Your professional 5-year goals and how this program could help accomplish them
- Explain why you want to participate in the HOPA Mentorship Program
