"I am honored to be considered for Secretary of the HOPA Board of Directors. HOPA has been an important professional home throughout my career, providing opportunities for education, mentorship, service, and connection. I welcome the opportunity to give back by helping HOPA translate its strategic vision into meaningful and sustainable results for its members, the oncology pharmacy profession, and the patients we serve.
"As an Oncology Pharmacy Program Manager and PGY2 Oncology Pharmacy Residency Program Director, I lead initiatives that require strategic stewardship of clinical, operational, financial, and human resources. My responsibilities include developing new oncology programs, evaluating high-cost therapies, creating business cases, forecasting budgets, and expanding clinical pharmacy services across multiple practice sites. For example, I helped establish the infrastructure and interdisciplinary processes needed to expand access to bispecific T-cell engagers. This work required balancing patient access and innovation with safety, workforce readiness, operational feasibility, and financial sustainability. These experiences have taught me to connect long-term vision with careful planning, measurable outcomes, and responsible use of resources.
"Collaboration is central to my leadership approach. I regularly work with pharmacists, physicians, nurses, advanced practice clinicians, finance, information services, revenue cycle, and operational leaders. I seek out differing perspectives, create space for candid dialogue, and keep groups focused on shared goals. I believe the strongest decisions emerge when individuals feel heard and when diverse professional and practice-setting perspectives meaningfully influence the outcome.
"My organizational leadership experience includes progressing through the Minnesota Society of Health-System Pharmacists Central Affiliate leadership pathway as Treasurer, President-Elect, President, and Past President, as well as serving as a Board Member-at-Large at the state level. These roles strengthened my experience in governance, financial oversight, meeting facilitation, strategic planning, communication, and volunteer engagement. My HOPA service, including past involvement with the BCOP Preparatory/Recertification Committee and current participation on the Annual Conference Planning Committee, has also deepened my appreciation for the expertise and commitment of HOPA's members.
"As Secretary, I would promote transparent communication, accurate documentation, organizational continuity, and accountability for Board decisions. I would apply an access, representation, and opportunity-focused lens by asking whose perspectives are represented, what barriers may limit participation, and how HOPA can create attainable pathways for members to contribute and lead. I would support implementation of HOPA's Strategic Plan by helping the Board remain aligned with its priorities, clearly document decisions and progress, and responsibly advance initiatives that deliver meaningful value to members and strengthen the future of oncology pharmacy."
