"HOPA is my professional home. Throughout my career, this organization has provided opportunities to learn, lead, advocate, listen, network, and build relationships with colleagues who have become trusted mentors, collaborators, and friends.
"For many of us, advancing cancer care is personal. My connection to oncology began with hearing stories about my grandfather's battle with metastatic melanoma in the 1970s. While treatment options looked very different then, what stands out to me now is how much a pharmacist could have contributed to his care journey. From direct patient care through symptom management and treatment optimization to advancing research, education, and access to innovative therapies, the diverse roles we play today truly make a meaningful difference for patients and families facing cancer. These patient stories sparked my interest in oncology and continue to fuel my passion for advancing cancer care and improving outcomes for the patients and families we serve.
"As I look toward HOPA's future, I see tremendous opportunity. Our profession continues to expand its impact within cancer care, and HOPA is uniquely positioned to support members through that evolution. Whether a student or resident exploring oncology, an early career practitioner seeking mentorship, a mid-career pharmacist taking on new challenges, or an experienced leader looking to give back, HOPA can make every member feel welcomed, supported, connected, and empowered to contribute. Our strength lies in bringing together diverse perspectives, experiences, and practice settings in pursuit of a common purpose.
"My career has centered on building programs, stewarding resources, and supporting and developing people. I believe HOPA's long-term success depends on continuing to lean into our strengths of our culture of engagement, mentorship, leadership development, and community across our membership. By investing in one another, we strengthen our profession and ultimately improve care for our patients. Progress happens when we challenge ourselves to think differently, embrace innovation, and turn ideas into action.
"If elected, I would focus on advancing our strategic priorities while strengthening what I believe is HOPA's greatest asset: its people. Together, we can continue building an inclusive professional home for all oncology pharmacy practitioners, advancing our profession, advocating for our patients, and shaping the future of cancer care. As elected leaders within HOPA, our responsibility is to build upon the strong foundation established by those before us and aiming to leave the organization even stronger for those who follow. If elected, I would be honored to serve as that steward, helping advance HOPA's mission today while investing in the leaders who will shape HOPA's future tomorrow."
