"Leadership is, at its core, an act of stewardship. The leaders I admire most are those who strengthen organizations through thoughtful planning, meaningful collaboration, and sustainable systems that continue to benefit others long after their term has ended. That is the philosophy I have carried throughout my leadership journey, and it is the perspective I would bring to serving as HOPA Secretary.
"For more than a decade, I have sought opportunities to strengthen the organizations I serve. Within HOPA, I have progressed from committee member to Vice Chair, Chair, and Past Chair of the Annual Conference Abstract Review Subcommittee, where I focused on creating enduring educational resources that support committee members and improve consistency in the review process. Through participation in HOPA's Big Idea initiative, leadership in the Thoracic Oncology SIG, and service on the Collaborative Oncology Research (CORe) Workgroup and Research Strategy & Oversight Committee (RSOC), I have continued to invest in initiatives that expand opportunities for members and advance our profession. Outside of HOPA, I have served in executive leadership with the Utah Society of Health-System Pharmacists, culminating in service as President, as well as Residency Program Coordinator at Huntsman Cancer Institute. These additional experiences have prepared me to contribute to HOPA's leadership team through thoughtful governance, collaborative decision-making, and a commitment to organizational excellence. I value bringing people together, listening carefully to diverse perspectives, and building consensus around a shared vision. I believe organizations are strongest when every member feels heard, empowered, and connected to a common purpose.
"As Secretary, I would support implementation of HOPA's Strategic Plan by fostering strong communication, organizational continuity, and intentional collaboration across the Board and committees. I am especially passionate about advancing HOPA's strategic priorities in education and advocacy by expanding opportunities for learning, mentorship, and professional engagement while continuing to elevate the visibility and impact of oncology pharmacists. It would be an honor to serve HOPA in this role. I am committed to ensure our organization remains innovative, collaborative, and positioned for continued success."
