Module 8: Value-Based Frameworks in Oncology
Course Description
This session explores and describes the integration of value-based frameworks into oncology practice, including description of currently available models and possible applications. This session highlights varied perspectives on value-based frameworks, including some possible advantages and disadvantages for stakeholders. Through included case studies, session participants will develop practical strategies to incorporate value-based principles into oncology practice, better positioning them to advocate for value-based decisions that will positively impact patients in an evolving healthcare landscape.

- Discuss relevant value-based cancer care models
- Apply and assess the various value-based models using clinical examples
- Identify future directions for the assessment of value of oncology therapies
This module includes an ACPE Pre- and Post-Test, an eLearning course, and a course evaluation. You must complete all of these module activities, in order, before claiming ACPE credits.
Presenter

Jason Bergsbaken, PharmD, BCOP, MBA, currently serves as Interim Manager, Oncology Pharmacy; Pharmacy Coordinator, Regional Oncology Services; and Program Director, PGY2 Oncology Pharmacy Residency at UW Health and Clinical Assistant Professor, University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Pharmacy in Madison, WI. Dr. Bergsbaken received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Following graduation, he completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency and PGY2 Oncology Pharmacy Residency at UW Health. Dr. Bergsbaken also completed a Master of Business Administration degree through University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. In his current role, Dr. Bergsbaken serves as secretary of the institutional oncology P&T committee which oversees review and approval of chemotherapy regimens for the treatment of adult malignancy at UW Health. Dr. Bergsbaken is a member of the Board of Directors for the Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association (HOPA) and is a past recipient of the 40 Under 40 in Cancer Award.

Application Course for Pharmacists

HOPA is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.
To claim ACPE Credits the learner must complete all required activities, including the pre- and post-tests, and course evaluation. CE's will be reported within 1-2 weeks of completion of the credit claim activity.
