Course Description
Extravasation is a rare occurrence, but being prepared and having a plan is critical for patient safety. This module helps pharmacists establish or improve their practices to provide accurate and efficient care during an extravasation.

This module includes an ACPE Pre- and Post-Test, an eLearning course, and a course evaluation. You must complete all of these module activities, in order, before claiming ACPE credits.
Presenter

Nancy M. Nix, PharmD, BCPS, BCOP, joined the medical affairs team at Bayer in November 2023 after almost 23 years in clinical practice, and she supports the prostate cancer portfolio. Dr. Nix received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Georgia, College of Pharmacy, in Athens, GA. She completed post-graduate training at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital and the University of Georgia, College of Pharmacy and Cone Health Cancer Center in Greensboro, NC. Dr. Nix serves for 12 years as an Oncology Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator while also contributing to the body of literature as an author/co-author for many peer-reviewed publications as well as working as a contract medical writer. She is a member of the Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association, the Advanced Practitioner Society for Hematology and Oncology, the American College of Clinical Pharmacists, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the American Urological Association, and is board certified in pharmacotherapy and oncology pharmacy by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties. Dr. Nix was on faculty with the University of Georgia for seven years and served as the faculty advisor for Student Oncological Advocates in Pharmacy. She further supported clinical education by serving as a preceptor for the colleges of pharmacy at the University of Georgia, Mercer University, South University (Columbia and Savannah campuses), and East Tennessee State University. In her current role, Dr. Nix provides mentorship to fellows and new hires at Bayer on clinical data interpretation and scientific presentations.

HOPA is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.
To claim ACPE Credits the learner must complete all required activities, including the pre- and post-tests, and course evaluation. CE's will be reported within 1-2 weeks of completion of the credit claim activity.
