Jason Bergsbaken, PharmD, MBA, BCOP currently serves as Interim Manager, Oncology Pharmacy at UW Health. His responsibilities include the coordination and standardization of pharmaceutical care among UW Carbone Cancer Center partners. In his current role, Dr. Bergsbaken serves as secretary of the institutional oncology P&T committee which oversees review and approval of chemotherapy regimens for the treatment of adult malignancy at UW Health. Additionally, he has led the implementation of multiple practice advancement initiatives, including pharmacist-led oral chemotherapy management at UW Health.
Dr. Bergsbaken also serves as Program Director, PGY2 Oncology Pharmacy Residency at UW Health. Since serving in this role in 2022, he has successfully trained 7 PGY2 Oncology residents and secured program expansion to 3 residents in 2024-25.
Dr. Bergsbaken also serves as Clinical Assistant Professor, University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Pharmacy in Madison, WI. In his role, he helps co-coordinate the required oncology pharmacotherapy course for DPH-3 students and offers an elective oncology seminar course for DPH-3 students interested in more advanced oncology topics.
Dr. Bergsbaken received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Following graduation, he completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency and PGY2 Oncology Pharmacy Residency at UW Health. Dr. Bergsbaken has been a board-certified oncology pharmacist (BCOP) since 2015. Dr. Bergsbaken completed a Master of Business Administration degree through the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Dr. Bergsbaken has received numerous recognitions, including most recently 40 Under 40 in Cancer in 2024, UW-Madison School of Pharmacy Alumni Association Young Alumnus of the Year in 2024, and Extraordinary Service Award, UW Health Division of Hematology, Medical Oncology, and Palliative Care in 2025.
