Hill Day 2026: Making HOPA's Voice Heard

HOPA made our patients and our profession's presence felt on Capitol Hill with this year's In-Person Hill Day!

Taking place Wednesday, September 16, In-Person Hill Day 2026 offered HOPA members, residents, and advocates the unique opportunity to engage with their members of Congress. Throughout the day, advocates conversed face to face with their elected officials and their staff on several issues important to hematology/oncology pharmacists and their patients, including:

• Supporting the Improving Seniors' Timely Access to Care Act to bring reforms to the Medicare Advantage prior authorization process, ensuring seniors can access the tests, treatments, and medications they need in a timely manner
• Supporting the Cancer Drug Parity Act, ensuring equal access to all anti-cancer regiments and helping to reduce the financial disparity between oral and IV chemotherapy
• Finding solutions to the ongoing drug shortages problems

There are members of Congress who need to hear from YOU - their constituents - about the great work that hematology/oncology pharmacy practitioners do and how they help those on their cancer treatment journey.

With 49 total HOPA participants attending more than 70 meetings across 22 states, HOPA made sure your voice and the voice of all those impacted by cancer were heard on Capitol Hill.
