Module 13: Oral Anticancer Agents
Course Description
This session will explore existing frameworks and quality standards that inform oral anticancer agents (OAA)-centered initiatives, including guidance from HOPA, ONS, ASCO, and NCODA. Participants will examine how financial and quality outcomes intersect to drive clinic efficiency, adherence, and persistence in cancer care. The session will also discuss opportunities to leverage electronic health record (EHR) tools and interdisciplinary collaboration to operationalize OAA-based initiatives that improve patient outcomes and optimize oncology pharmacy practice.
Learning Objectives
- Review existing HOPA, ONS, ASCO, and NCODA standards and frameworks guiding OAA-centered initiatives
- Identify operational considerations that impact OAA care delivery including collaborative practice agreements, financial models, and efficient workflows
- Analyze quality outcomes and existing oncology pharmacy standards (e.g., ASCO Quality, PQA, URAC) to identify current gaps and opportunities for enhancement
- Describe strategies to leverage electronic health record (EHR) tools and engage interdisciplinary teams to operationalize and sustain OAA-centered initiatives
This module includes an ACPE Pre- and Post-Test, an eLearning course, and a course evaluation. You must complete all of these module activities, in order, before claiming ACPE credits.
