Module 4: Calculating Appropriate Doses of Anticancer Medications for Hematology/Oncology Patients
Course Description
This module describes a variety of calculations that may be encountered by the hematology/oncology practitioner. It includes review of common calculations to determine the dose of anticancer medications, body surface area, renal function, and dosing considerations in specific populations and scenarios.

This module includes an ACPE Pre- and Post-Test, an eLearning course, and a course evaluation. You must complete all of these module activities, in order, before claiming ACPE credits.
Presenters

Kelly Gaertner Brandt, PharmD, BCOP, BCPS, is an Oncology Clinical Pharmacy Specialist practicing with Allegheny Health Network Cancer Institute. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Duquesne University and completed her oncology pharmacy training at the University of Virginia Health System in Charlottesville, VA. She previously worked in the Breast Medicine Clinic at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, NY, before working throughout the Pittsburgh area with Allegheny Health Network. She has experience as a Scientific Director in Oncology with Clinical Care Options before returning to clinical practice in 2024. She currently works with adult oncology patients in an ambulatory practice setting. Her professional interests include breast and lung cancer, supportive care, and oral chemotherapy management.

Dr. Olin is a Clinical Pharmacist at the Novant Health Cancer Institute in Charlotte, NC. She has been active in academia, health systems pharmacy, and professional organizations throughout her pharmacy career. She has provided presentations regionally and nationally on a variety of clinical topics. Dr. Olin has published articles in the Annals of Pharmacotherapy, Pharmacotherapy, and other pharmacy and education journals. Dr. Olin has implemented clinical and educational programs for pharmacists, medical residents, and other healthcare providers in New Jersey and North Carolina. She has held offices in state and national pharmacy organizations, and was part of the team that developed the original HOPA Core Competency program. Dr. Olin is a past recipient of the New Jersey Society of Health-System Pharmacists Pharmacist of the Year award, and the Hunterdon Medical Center Physician Family Practice Residency Program Teacher of the Year award and the Wingate University Graduate Faculty Member of the Year Award.

HOPA is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.
