Even More Ways to Make Your Work Work Toward BCOP Recertification!

Recent BCOP recertification framework updates have made earning continuing professional development (CPD) units more flexible, cost-effective, and open to varied activities.

Starting in 2024, board-certified pharmacists beginning a new certification cycle will be able to earn up to 20 CPD units to count toward the 100 required for BCOP recertification and other Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) certifications. Thanks to this pilot framework, self-selected and self-reported activities that count toward earning CPD include:

  • Assessed CPE via BPS-approved professional development programs
  • CPE and CPD portfolios
  • Academic, Professional, and Interprofessional Study
  • Teaching and Precepting Learners
  • Scholarly Activities
  • Workplace Activities
  • Leadership and Professional Service
