The Journal of Hematology Oncology Pharmacy (JHOP) has an exciting opportunity to become a Perspectives Section Editor.

JHOP is an independent peer-reviewed journal providing high-quality information to oncology pharmacy practitioners and other healthcare professionals with a focus on drug therapy to improve the care of patients with hematology/oncology conditions.
Perspectives articles may cover many topics, eg, discussions of current health policy, pharmacy practice training, or social/ethical issues; a perspective article can also provide commentary on a recent clinical article published in JHOP.
Perspective articles are 750 to 1000 words, excluding references. Perspectives articles are not put through the standard JHOP peer-review system, but each article is reviewed by ≥1 Section Editors. Once accepted, all Perspectives articles undergo the journal’s rigorous editing and fact checking.
Responsibilities
The Perspectives Section Editors:
- Set the tone and direction for the section
- Provide authors with recommendations for revisions
- Make the final decision to accept or reject an article; involve Editors-in-Chief when appropriate
- In reviewing a perspective article, the Section Editor is expected to check that:
- The manuscript is appropriate for JHOP
- The reasoning is clearly explained
- Any data cited are valid and clear
- The conclusions are supported by the text
- No important areas of discussion were omitted
- References are relevant and up to date
Expectations
In addition to reviewing submissions, Section Editors are expected to:
- Perspectives Section Editors are expected to write ≥2 perspectives annually
- Work with other JHOP editorial board members or their colleagues to solicit ≥2 high-quality manuscripts for the section annually
- Share JHOP social media posts when new perspectives content is published
Section Editor membership is voluntary, renewable annually, and carries no monetary compensation.

The External Affairs Committee is looking for HOPA members to contribute Pharmacists' Applications to Practice (PAPs), which outline the role of oncology drugs in treatment plans. HOPA News Authors Wanted
The External Affairs Committee (EAC) is in search of authors for HOPA News articles. Common topics include Member Research, Practice Management, Quality Initiatives, and Clinical Pearls, as well as Clinical Controversies, Resident's Cubicle, Focus on Patient Care, and Personal Reflections.

BCOP Field Testers Needed

Are you interested in contributing to HOPA's BCOP efforts? If you are a HOPA Member and hold a BCOP Certification, this opportunity may be for you!
Field tests will be scheduled with volunteers prior to the BCOP release. Industry professionals are encouraged to participate! As a thank you for your time and contributions, all HOPA BCOP field testers will receive BCOP credits for completed field tests.
