Milwaukee, WI - The Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association (HOPA) is proud to team up with the Student National Pharmaceutical Association (SNPhA) for the Cancer Clarity Challenge, a new national competition that empowers pharmacy students to combat cancer misinformation in underserved communities.

The four-month campaign is the first of its kind facilitated by students with the support of oncology pharmacy professionals.

Through community outreach, SNPhA students will promote the spread of scientifically accurate cancer knowledge. The program will equip them to lead evidence-based cancer education, engage in impactful outreach, and connect with oncology pharmacy leaders now and in their professional futures. Students will also earn recognition at SNPhA National Convention in 2026.

“The inaugural Cancer Clarity Challenge marks a meaningful new chapter for SNPhA’s efforts to combat cancer misinformation,” said SNPhA National Combating Cancer Initiative Chair Aaliyah Wade. “Through our partnership with HOPA, we are creating space for student leaders to collaborate with oncology experts and to bring proven science directly into their communities.”

Wade also sees the Cancer Clarity Challenge as more than a competition, but an opportunity for participants to lead with clarity, serve with compassion, and help set the standard for future generations of student pharmacists.

HOPA volunteers will serve as clinical experts and professional mentors as students develop and implement their community-focused projects to address cancer misinformation nationwide.

“Our Cancer Clarity Challenge partnership gives HOPA members an incredible chance to work closely with the next generation of pharmacists,” said HOPA President Robert Mancini, PharmD, BCOP, FHOPA. “The partnership works both ways: We get the opportunity to help guide and inspire these remarkable students, while also learning and gaining inspiration from them.”
