Dr. Marie-Therese Oyalowo is an Associate Professor and Drug Information Director, Department of Pharmacy Practice and Administration, School of Pharmacy (SOP) and Health Professions at University of Maryland, Eastern Shore (UMES). She serves as the coordinator and provides lectures for the Hematology/ Oncology and Therapeutics of Self Care & Over The Counter courses. She also teaches several courses as a team faculty member, among other responsibilities. She serves as the chair of the Professional Development Committee and member of the following committees: Student Academic Progression, Awards and Scholarship, Sunshine and several search committees. She is currently serving as the parliamentarian for the Faculty Council and the SOP faculty representative in the University wide Faculty Assembly.

Dr. Oyalowo has extensive professional practice experience including leadership responsibilities. Areas of pharmacy practice include Drug Information, General Medicine, Infectious Diseases, Critical Care, Cardiology, Oncology, Transplantation, Geriatric Medicine, Pediatrics and Community Pharmacy Practice. Leadership roles included President/Owner, Comcare Pharmacy, Bowie, MD;  Director, Drug Information Services, Howard University Hospital, Washington, DC; Senior Clinical Pharmacist/Team Leader, Washington Hospital Center, Washington DC; Secretary, Board of Directors, CARE Pharmacies, Linthicum, MD; and Assistant Manager, Revco Drugs, Atlanta, GA.

Specific areas of interest include hematology/oncology practice with emphasis on therapeutic management of various cancers including supportive care. She has specific interest in cancer prevention and survivorship and has recently provided presentations to the community on these topics. She enjoys sharing her professional experience with the students, and motivating them towards their professional goals.  She also serves as a preceptor to pharmacy students and residents.
