HOPA Hill Day
Hill Day 2025: Making HOPA's Voice Heard
HOPA's 2025 in-person Hill Day headed to Washington D.C. on Tuesday, September 30!
The annual event allowed advocates a unique opportunity to engage with their members of Congress, speaking to their elected officials and their staff to discuss pressing issues to hematology/oncology pharmacists and their patients. This year's in-person advocacy event pushed several important topics forward in the Capitol, including:
- Supporting solutions to cancer drug shortages
- Supporting and cosponsoring the Clinical Trial Modernization Act, a House Bill introduced in May 2025 aiming to improve participation in clinical trials by underrepresented populations
- Providing and maintaining federal funding for cancer research, prevention, and surveillance programs
In total, Hill Day 2025 brought together 45 proud HOPA advocates - including pharmacists, caregivers, and residents - for 68 productive meetings with representatives and staffers, making this year's in-person gathering one of the largest Hill Days in HOPA's history. Thank you to all of the incredible volunteers and advocates who made this event possible and who made sure our pharmacists and patients were heard on the hill!
