Statement of Access, Representation, and Opportunity

HOPA commits now and in the future to creating a culture of access, representation, and opportunity. Each of our HOPA Councils align with this commitment:

Professional Practice – We will expand the profession of oncology pharmacy so that people from all backgrounds are represented. HOPA will build programs and systems that encourage all oncology pharmacists to serve on committees and pursue leadership opportunities.

Education – We will provide continuing education credits across multiple venues and platforms and in accessible formats. We will empower HOPA members to develop social and cultural competencies and the confidence to play a role in addressing barriers to patient access.

Research – We emphasize the value of scholarship and research and will continue to support projects that optimize care for all patients. We will continue to make grant funding available to HOPA member-researchers based on the merit of their proposed cancer care models and research trials.

Advocacy – We remain committed to lobbying for policies that will make treatments and care accessible for all people with cancer. HOPA will continue to advocate for healthcare policies that advance the role of oncology pharmacists.
