Election Statement

I have been a member of HOPA for 12 years and am perpetually amazed as how the organization and membership is able to build and promulgate a core focus on both patient care in addition to ancillary areas such as operations, regulatory, research, finance, employee well-being, technician workforce sustainability, networking, and other tasks we all find infused into our daily work lives. What we as the HOPA Community do, day in and day out, has an indescribably positive impact on our patients, pharmacy colleagues, and oncology care providers.

Growing and supporting an oncology pharmacy team to meet the needs of our patients, in addition to partnering across our health system for areas outside of our immediate realm of control, has been my primary focus for the last decade. As a pharmacy director at a large cancer center, I am humbled and honored to be entrusted as a steward of our oncology pharmacy services, which encompasses everything from directing or supporting our Infusion Access Team, compounding facilities, clinical practice, and fostering our professional growth and well-being across our oncology pharmacy team and beyond.

The role of HOPA Treasurer and the associated responsibilities align very closely with my skills, interest, and professional experiences. I am comfortable interpreting and acting on general financial statements, investment opportunities, budgeting, and other financial activities. Many of the tasks related to HOPA Treasurer and Chair of the Finance Committee will benefit from the close scrutiny and stewardship I apply to my professional and personal finances.

I also have a wide breadth and depth of pharmacy experiences that supplement my oncology leadership roles, which includes adult and pediatric clinical team coverage, Central and Satellite Hospital Pharmacy staffing, USP <797>; manager, infusion pharmacy manager, Adjunct College of Pharmacy experiences, and Pharmacy Director roles within Pediatrics, IDS, Specialty Pharmacy, and others.

Additionally, my time spent as Chair for the HOPA Industry Advisory Group, member on the Practice Management Planning Committee, Publications Committee, and numerous conferences, presentations, bootcamps, and meetings, has also allowed me to appreciate and understand some of the organizational nuances and needs within HOPA.

As a Board member, I will build off these experiences to reinforce our strengths and improve on areas of opportunity. My servant leadership mentality coupled with a desire for collaboration and vision for strategic advancement would help our oncology community and HOPA organization to continue to thrive.
