October is American Pharmacists Month! HOPA thanks our more than 2,700 members who work tirelessly to optimize the care of individuals affected by cancer. The work you do every day is vital to your patients’ safety and care. Thank you!
As hematology/oncology pharmacists, you play a critical role in cancer care, from preparing the medicine cancer patients take to providing patients, physicians, and other members of the cancer team with expert information to ensure the best result from cancer treatments.
To aid in the work you do, HOPA volunteers created resources for members to share with their patients. Take a look at our medication patient flyers on cancer medicines, oral chemotherapy medicines, and the role of the oncology pharmacist, as well and the CINV toolkit.
Check out the American Pharmacists Association’s American Pharmacists Month Planning Guide for additional ideas to help you celebrate American Pharmacists Month. Share what you love about being a pharmacist on Twitter and Facebook using #HOPApharmMonth.
Don’t forget National Pharmacy Technician Day on October 17! Pharmacy technicians provide invaluable support to the hematology/oncology pharmacy team and to the patients you care for each day.
