Why Connect with HOPA?

A seat at the Industry Relations Council Annual Summit

Meet with HOPA leaders to exchange ideas and knowledge. This meeting is designed to facilitate an ongoing dialogue between industry and HOPA leaders about strategic goals and initiatives. A unique opportunity for open discussion on key topics and future trends in the specialty of hematology/oncology pharmacy, this meeting is a forum for exploring how both the association and industry can capitalize on each other’s strengths to enhance the care of patients with cancer. Each company will have two seats at the Industry Relations Council Annual Summit, and invitations will be sent to a designated contact. HOPA Board and industry representatives will convene for a 1-day meeting led by a facilitator in Chicago. A summary of the meeting will be made available to HOPA members.

Invitations to the HOPA Board Conference Reception

Receive invitations to network with HOPA Board members, committee chairs, and leaders at a private reception during the HOPA Annual Conference. Registration to attend the HOPA Annual Conference Receive two complimentary registrations for the HOPA Annual Conference to learn about topics of emerging interest in the management of cancer patients as well as practical issues that pharmacists face in delivering care. The 2010 4-day conference included 30 clinical and technical presentations, 100 research posters, and 50 industry booths featuring products and services in hematology/oncology. Priority booth placement at the HOPA Annual Conference

Receive priority booth placement in the exhibit hall that will deliver high visibility and generate high traffic to your booth. Meet face to face with more than 650 hematology/oncology pharmacists. Booth space is assigned according to the date applications are received, size of previous booth space, and numbers of years in attendance.

Receive recognition as a member of the Industry Relations Council annually in HOPA News and in the program book and signage at the HOPA Annual Conference. This recognition will be distinct and separate from recognition of commercial supporters of the conference.

All activities will be consistent with the HOPA mission and the following policies:

  • Annual dues for participation in the HOPA Industry Relations Council are $50,000 per organization per calendar year.
  • All applicants must be approved by HOPA.
  • This is a nonvoting membership extended to a single corporate- or facility-designated representative.
  • Each council member is asked to identify one designated contact person who will determine up to two invididuals to participate in council activities and events for the given year. Alternate representatives can participate in functions with advance notice.
  • Solicitation of other council members and HOPA representatives is prohibited during council activities and events.
  • Use of the HOPA logo is prohibited without prior consent.
  • Council participants will receive copies of all related policy documents and, by signing the application for participation, will agree to abide by these and any other applicable rules governing their activities on the council. Violations of stated or implied policies will be reported to HOPA and may result in forfeiture of council membership as determined by HOPA.

Our Mission

To support pharmacy practitioners and promote and advance hematology/oncology pharmacy to optimize the care of individuals affected by cancer.
HOPA will accomplish this by

  • disseminating leading-edge, evidence-based information on patient management
  • advancing our advocacy agenda for patients and the profession
  • establishing partnerships, collaborations, and strategic alliances
  • promoting and encouraging research
  • educating members on legislative, regulatory, and reimbursement policies and processes
  • ensuring HOPA’s long-term financial and operational viability.
