Sarah L. Scarpace, PharmD BCOP
Sarah L. Scarpace, PharmD BCOP is the Assistant Dean for Pharmacy Professional Affairs and Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice at the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Albany, NY. She practices as a clinical oncology pharmacy specialist at the Stratton Veterans’ Administration Medical Center in the Center for Cancer and Hematological Disorders outpatient clinic with a particular interest in head and neck, prostate, lung, colon cancers and the chronic leukemias, non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas, and multiple myeloma, and myelodysplastic syndrome. She has also been instrumental in addressing the challenge of oral chemotherapy management. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University at Buffalo and completed an oncology pharmacy PGY1 residency at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, NY. Dr. Scarpace is Board Liaison to the HOPA BCOP Recertification and Review Panel committees.
Dr. Scarpace is currently enrolled in the Master of Public Health program at the State University of New York at Albany School of Public Health, with a focus in epidemiology and a specific interest in cancer epidemiology.
Dr. Scarpace became interested in oncology pharmacy after completing a clinical rotation as a pharmacy student at Roswell Park Cancer Institute and seeing the tremendous impact that pharmacists could make in the care of cancer patients. After being immersed in the care of cancer patients for several years, her interests have expanded to cancer prevention and epidemiology, which is the focus of her efforts in the MPH degree program.
